Secrets can sometimes be a wonderful thing – and when shared, have the power of bringing people together. If you’re not familiar with Frank Warren’s project PostSecret, I guarantee it will make you smile. Since 2005 he’s been asking complete strangers to send him their secrets on a postcard which he scans and puts on his website.
“Secrets can take many forms. They can be shocking or silly or soulful. They can connect us with our deepest humanity, or with people we’ll never meet.”
Projects like this always leave me in awe. I remember when I first came across PostSecret years back, that it reminded me of my small collection of Found Magazines. I had no idea the site was still running, but it’s refreshing to see how successful it’s become and how much of an impact it’s had on the lives of so many around the world. It’s the smallest things sometimes that can connect us with others. It makes us realize that we’re not alone – that we’re not the only ones who feel that way. It makes us realize that well, we’re all human.
