Dress: Zara, Skirt: Vera Wang for Kohl’s, Shoes: Volley Australia, Necklace: Vintage 80’s Zulu from Rose Bowl Flea Market, Sunnies: Nasty Gal, Purse: F21
So this is probably my best outfit post yet, hate that I’m always so awkward – I seriously have no idea how to pose. Anyway, thanks so much to Sasha aka LA Inspiration for snapping this photo of me on my trusty new iPhone 4 today during our “lunch” date. I’ve been wearing my red Volley OC’s seriously non-stop lately. Not only do I feel like a beachside Dorothy in them, but they are so comfy. I haven’t had a love affair with a pair of sneakers since I went through my Nike phase like 5 years ago (yes, I still have a nice collection of Dunks and Blazers collecting dust in my closet).
I can’t rave enough about these shoes from Australian brand Volley who debuted their line in the US (now available at Urban Outfitters) at MAGIC a few weeks ago. I was so sad I wasn’t able to make it out to Vegas and hangout with the Volley crew and see Ben Lee perform, but they were kind enough to send me a pair and I wear them at least 4 days a week. I rock then with jeans, dresses, pretty much everything, and here today with my new favorite outfit. They’re way versatile – I can dress them up or down! My favorite part (which I even divulged in a market research survey recently) is the attention to detail Volley has with the OC’s. I’m obsessed with the scalloped detail on the tongue, the metal shoelace tips, and the built in leather insole. As you know, I’m all about design and details.
Oh, even the boyfriend is way impressed with my Volleys (and wishes he had his own pair!), saying they remind him of shoes Supreme NYC would put out. Yeah, totally major, especially since he’s partially responsible for my now pretty refined personal sense of style since he’s worked for years as a merchandising manager for some big names in fashion (Marc Jacobs, Diesel, Levi’s). He’s the one who spotted my amazing African Zulu necklace at the flea market months ago. Boy knows his stuff, uh huh.
